Riposte
Privacy policy
Last updated 14 July 2026
This pre-release policy explains how Independent app developer ("we") handles information when you use Riposte. Contact us at support@riposte.cc.
Information we handle
- Account identifiers, sign-in provider identifiers, profile details, and settings.
- Hashed contact-discovery values and the connections or blocks you choose to create.
- Voice recordings, transcripts, debate and discussion content, judgments, votes, reports, and moderation records.
- Device and push-notification identifiers, app version, locale, and security signals.
- Crash diagnostics and limited operational logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Subscription entitlement or advertising-consent information only if those features are activated in a future release.
Why we use it
We use information to authenticate you, deliver debates and notifications, process audio, generate transcripts and judgments, help you find contacts with permission, enforce safety rules, provide support, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. We do not sell personal data.
Sharing and processors
Information may be processed by infrastructure, authentication, notification, AI-processing, storage, and crash-reporting providers solely to operate the service. The final App Store release will publish a current subprocessor list and the countries in which processing occurs. Other users can see the profile and shared content that the product marks as visible to them.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and content data only while needed to provide the service, meet safety or legal obligations, and resolve operational incidents. You can request account deletion in the app. Deletion removes the account, shared debates and associated content rather than preserving anonymised copies, subject only to narrowly required legal, security, and backup retention. Backups expire on their normal protected rotation and are not restored for ordinary use.
Your choices
You can decline contacts, microphone, and notification permissions; change profile details; block or report users; sign out; and request deletion. Some features cannot work without their relevant permission. Questions or privacy requests can be sent tosupport@riposte.cc.
Advertising and subscriptions
Advertising and paid subscriptions are currently dormant. Before activation, this policy and the in-app consent flow will explain the providers, tracking status, purchase data, and choices that apply. Tracking will not be enabled without the consent required by the platform and law.
Children and changes
The service is not intended for children below the minimum age stated in the final store listing. We will post material policy changes here and, when appropriate, notify users in-app.
